An introduction to "My Categories" What it is, How it works
Until recently it was us categorizing our products into groups such as "Skull Patches" "Eagle Patches" where we pooled together all the products that we thought fit in these categories. Over time they have become very crowded with tons of patches that we came out with.
We have worked hard the last couple of months to bring you the ability to create your own categories and save products to them. At the moment the system is quite simple and straight forward. Everybody gets two categories by default. "My Wishlist" and "Purchased Products". But you can create your own categories, set them to be shareable or private. Save products to any one of them and create your own collections. You may for example have a category titled "My favorite flags" and start saving the flag patches you like under that category. Later on when you login to your account all you have to do is scroll over the heart button at the header and view your own categories.
Give it a try. See how you like it. We hope you find it useful. If you have any suggestions please contact us. At the moment it's simple to create a category. When you click Save on any product you can enter in a name of a new category and click create. The created category will be added under the heart sign at the header. It's that simple. Each category page you visit does have an option to edit or delete the category. Currently you can rename your categories and edit its privacy settings. Soon enough based on your input we will allow you to do other cool things.
How it Works
When you are logged in you can view your categories by clicking the heart button on the header. If you are not logged in, it will ask you to login or create an account. This is where all your categories are listed.
To add new categories or save products to a category just click on the save button on any product. It will list you all your existing categories and give you the option to create a new one.
Save buttons for products are found in three different places.
1. Product pages
2. List views of any category
3. Grid views of any category
You can edit or delete any category you've created by visiting the category page first. For example here I'm viewing "My Flag Patches" Category. Notice the delete and edit buttons at the top. You can edit the categories name and it's shareability. If you make it private only you can view your category when logged in. If you make the category Shareable you can share it with your friends and anyone with the link to your category can view the page. We will keep adding new features to the edit functionality in time. Just waiting on your feedback.
You can share your categories with other people on social media or simply email them the link. The URL of categories are quite simple, your category name followed by a unique numeric value. Click the Share Button on the header to reveal the Share Options Available.
