Custom Embroidered Patches for Civil War Reenactors

This past weekend my daughter and future son-in-law spent four days in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania as reenactors. They participated with a Confederate unit representing Texas; my future son-in-law played a common foot soldier while my daughter filled the role of a local civilian observing the historic three-day battle. While I was thinking about them I did a little bit of research on reenactment units to find that some of them are fairly large and impressive.

That led me to further research about creating uniforms for reenactors, and more importantly, creating them to be accurate according to a regiment a particular group is trying to represent. As it turns out, different regiments used embroidered patches to identify where they were from. Officers also used them as insignias to denote rank and regimental or divisional attachment. As it turns out you can't find a lot of these patches available in large numbers in a retail setting. So for a group that wanted to begin a new regiment depicting one of those known to have fought in the war they would need custom patches made.

That's where a company like The Cheap Place comes in. They can make custom patches based on any copyright and trademark free image you send them. For a Civil War reenactor historical records provide sufficient details -- and in some cases pictures -- of known regiments from that era. Using that information you could create a digital design to be sent off to The Cheap Place for your own custom-made patches. As long as you ordered 12 pieces or more they could have them manufactured at a really affordable price.

That's one of the neat things about custom-made embroidered patches. The Cheap Place can produce just about anything you need for any occasion.
