PTSD Some Wounds Aren't Visible If you are a member of the military you are familiar with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. While this condition can't be seen it remains as crippling as losing a limb. The definition for PTSD is it is a severe anxiety disorder  brought on by a traumatic event you have seen or experienced that involved the threat of injury or death. Basically it changes the body's response to stress. So far there is so rhyme or reason why some are affected this way and some aren't. The one thing everyone has in common is a violent, horrific event. War, disasters, death are a few of the things that trigger this disorder.

Some of the things that can result from this disorder are addiction, panic attacks, depression and more. Now more than ever there is great awareness and support for PTSD. You can search the internet and find a group near you or ask your physician. If you know of someone that is suffering help them find their way to help and support so they can resume a functional life.
