If you’re a true motorcycle enthusiast, you always want to be around bikes and the people who love those bikes. Which is why so many bikers go to rallies and other motorcycle oriented events throughout the year. One of the best ways to do this on a real schedule is to check out any motorcycle expos in your area or within a great bike ride away. For true enthusiasts, the journey to some of the larger expos in the country are some of the most fun they will have on a motorcycle all year. So with that in mind, below are some of the biggest motorcycle expo events of 2016.
THE EASY RIDERS BIKE SHOWS
Named after the infamous motorcycle movie, The Easy Riders Bike Show is one of the biggest and baddest in the country, kicking off it’s tour around America at the tail end of February in Columbus, Ohio. There are numerous other Easy Riders Bike Shows around the country over the rest of the year, like Long Beach, California, Sacramento, California, Charlotte, North Carolina and Nashville, Tennessee. Hitting all of these shows alone will pretty well cover your biking expo enjoyment for the whole of 2016.
DAYTONA BIKE WEEK – DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA
Every March, half a million motorcycles roll through Daytona Beach in an annual event that rivals Sturgis in South Dakota, though there is better weather here, beaches and a warm, beautiful ocean to swim in. So to many motorcycle enthusiasts who have to choose between the two events, this one is much more preferable.
ARIZONA BIKE WEEK – SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA
Not as big as Daytona, but definitely growing in popularity, the Arizona Bike week happens every April in Scottsdale and provides attendees a much larger and more versatile landscape in which to ride. When they aren’t on their bikes, parties are happening in and around Scottsdale, culminating in a three week concert series with some of the biggest names in music from then (a few decades before, at least) and now.
BLUE RIDGE BIKE FEST – SALEM VIRGINIA
A massive motorcycle festival just outside the Blue Ridge mountains shows off all the beauty Virginia has to offer in the middle of the summer, complete with vendors, parties, bands, bike and bikini contests and a whole lot more than you could ever do in a weekend.
STURGIS MOTORCYCLE RALLY – STURGIS, SOUTH DAKOTA
The biggest and baddest of all the motorcycle rallies every year is obviously Sturgis, made famous for taking over a tiny town for a week plus and wreaking havoc. It’s something like Burning Man meets Mad Max over this week and is a sight to behold even if you don’t necessarily love motorcycles. If you do, then it’s a wholly unique experience.
GOLDEN ASPEN MOTORCYCLE RALLY – MESCALERO, NEW MEXICO
For the 47th year in a row, Mescalero has been holding this motorcycle expo in an 86,000 square foot exhibition hall that is part of a casino, making it an ideal place for the National Road Riding Convention. It’s the perfect way to end your expo year before winter sets in.
