Among all of the custom motorcycle patches none is as interesting and unique as the 59 Club patch. Perhaps it's the simplicity of the design; perhaps it is something deeper than that. Either way, the 59 Club is unlike any other motorcycle club in the world. Not born out of a common love for motorcycles or as the result of rebellion against authority, the 59 Club is something completely different.
The 59 Club is a UK-based motorcycle club started in 1959 by an East London youth group out of the Church of England. At the time of its founding it had very little to do with motorcycles. Rather, it was established as a hangout place for underprivileged kids. It gradually became synonymous with motorcycles as more and more bikers began hanging out in the 1960s.
Through it all, the 59 Club remained a support system for underprivileged youth. Today that remains the club's main purpose but it has certainly evolved into a fully-fledged motorcycle club. They have chapters throughout Europe and parts of the USA and boast a membership of about 30,000.
When you see the 59 Club's official patch, and then you hear the story of its founding, it all makes perfect sense. The patch is a simple black circle with the number 59 embroidered in white. It is unassuming, simple, and yet a symbol of hope for so many disadvantaged youth. The patch could not be anything more colorful or flamboyant without losing its profound symbolism. In this case, less is more.
If you like the 59 Club patch, why not consider your own custom club patches for your motorcycle club or other organization? Custom patches can be created based on your design simply by contacting The Cheap Place and submitting your order. All you need is a creative idea.
