Top Motorcycle Destination: Fayetteville, Arkansas

As a motorcyclist, you are always looking for a great destination for a laidback vacation, right? For a biker, a great vacation place must have the following: great scenery, winding roads, and an accepting community where you can kick back with a beer. Fayetteville, Arkansas and the surrounding area fulfill these requirements, plus much more.

Fayetteville is a small university town nestled in northwest Arkansas. It is home the University of Arkansas and the (in)famous Razorbacks. As a university town it offers a number of bars and great hang outs that are welcoming to everyone. Of course, during the fall, no one would want to miss the spirited fun of a Razorback football game.

In fact, Fayetteville's time to shine is in the fall. The area is famous for its fall colors. Every fall, for about a week, the town and surrounding area is ablaze with reds, oranges, and yellows, a truly spectacular scene. This part of Arkansas is full to the brim with natural beauty, forests and lakes for miles (seems like the perfect place to wear a lone wolf biker patch, doesn't it?).

To top it off, the Fayetteville area has a number of amazing, winding roads that are sure to capture any biker's heart. Highway 71, the old route down towards Fort Smith (that has since been replaced by the faster, though more boring I-540), is a prime example: a lovely road that curves up and down hills through the fall forests.

If you're looking for a fall adventure, Fayetteville, Arkansas would be hard to beat. With its lovely roads and splendid fall colors, you will want to make this an annual pilgrimage event with all your biker buds.
