I took a ride over to the Speedway to check out how Biketoberfest is going at the track. Was shocked to see that no vendors were setup at the usual grass area. This is what it looked like
I decided to ride in and see if they moved the vendors to a different area and sure enough they were all lined up at the front end of the speedway over the concrete parking lot.
What used to be a nice spot to pay a visit and walk around over the grass of the speedway has been replaced with a super hot concrete parking lot. I must say it was disappointing. Certainly doesn't feel like the nice atmosphere it used to have when the vendors were setup over the grass.
So far I can report that they aren't many bikers in town. Certainly feels like a regular day in Daytona almost. Weather is absolutely gorgeous by the way. Couldn't ask for anything better on first day of Biketoberfest. Sunshine, and wind to cool you down.
Places to pay a visit during Biketoberfest here in Daytona are;
Main Street, Cabbage Patch, Speedway, and US-1 North of Daytona towards Ormond. There are many bars along the way on US-1 towards Destination Daytona in Ormond which is a huge Harley Davidson Complex.
