A Patch for Narcotics Officers

narcotics officer PatchThere are many different career options for someone with police training.  One of these specialties involves dealing with drugs.  These narcotics officers are charged with tracking down drug dealers, stopping the manufacture of drugs, and ensuring that confiscated drugs are kept locked up.  If you're one of these officers, you may want to add a Narcotics Officer Patch to your jacket, vest, or cap.  It's one of many Police Patches you'll find on The Cheap Place.

Narcotics Officers work for the Drug Enforcement Administration.  However, they originally were a part of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics.  This department was, oddly, a part of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, not a branch of the FBI or other, similar organization.  It was created in 1930 from several other Narcotics departments.  The main focus of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics was, at first, to combat opium and heroin smuggling.  Later, the bureau merged with the Bureau of Drug Abuse Control to become the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, which them became the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Today, Narcotics Officers deal with illegal drugs of all types.  Some officers work overseas, cooperating with other country's law enforcement agencies to stop smuggling and drug trafficking.  Others work on a local level, handling drug busts in small towns.

This Narcotics Officer Patch measures 3 by 1.5 inches.  It features white capital letters on a black background.  You can iron this patch on to many different types of clothing and materials.  However, if you're going to put it on leather, be sure to sew it on so you don't damage the materials.
