It's back to the Skull Patches section for today's blog post - the subject is the Skull and Snake patch. For me personally, this black-and-white 11" patch might be one of the creepiest that The Cheap Place offers. It sort of reminds me of a biker version of the ancient goddess Medusa. For those who are mythologically challenged, Medusa is a famous Greek goddess whose coif is made up of an entire bevy of snakes.
I suppose what creeps me out about this patch are the reptiles. I don't hate them, but I'm really no big fan of them either. Just imagining a skull with snakes slithering in and out creeps me out more than spiders, cockroaches, or any other number of creepy crawlers known to man. I'll handle a garter snake or two if I find them in my yard, but I'll leave the rest of them to a professional.
Anyway, getting back to the patch, I think this one would probably be awesome for a lady bikers who want to add that feminine Medusa touch. It sort of says that you're a biker goddess who shouldn't be messed with. The black and white coloring is such that the background should fade away against a black leather jacket or vest. The resulting white image will stick out like a sore thumb. No one will miss it. If you're attaching it to leather you'll need to sew it on, otherwise the iron on backing is good for most fabrics.
