An ambassador is someone who represents his or her group to others ? often to the world. While some ambassadors represent entire countries to the world community, others represent smaller groups. For example, some motorcycle clubs elect an official ambassador who represents the group at gatherings of regional biker groups or to other local clubs. Each club's ambassador may have different responsibilities. For some clubs, they may be involved in a lot of the club's marketing and recruiting. Ambassadors may be responsible for coordinating the club's booths at local events and advertising their activities.
In a way, of course, every motorcycle rider is an ambassador for bikers everywhere. Many who see bikers judge all other motorcycle riders by how that biker speaks and acts. This is why bikers should always remember that they represent bikers everywhere. If you get into an altercation with someone who seems to dislike bikers, then you'll only make them hate bikers more. You can even make people dislike all bikers just by making them angry. That's why all bikers need to remember that they're always representing themselves, their clubs, and bikers everywhere.
If you've been elected or appointed ambassador by your motorcycle club, or if you want to always remember that you're an ambassador for all motorcycle riders, you might want to add a small ambassador patch to your biker jacket. This patch features white lettering and a white border, but there are also versions of it in red or yellow, so you can pick the one that best matches the rest of your patches.
