Another Patch for the Irish

3 Leaf Clover Shamrock PatchA couple of months ago I wrote about the Lucky Irish patch; today my subject is the 3 Leaf Clover Shamrock patch. I don't know why these Irish patches interest me - perhaps it's due to the fact that my wife's ancestors came to the States from Ireland in the late 1800s. By the way, you can see the patch I'm talking about in the Small Cool Patches section. It's down near the bottom of page 4 if my memory is correct.

Anyway, this one measures a relatively large 3 inches, and is basically a green 3-leaf clover with a black border. The color makes it ideal against black leather because it really pops. It would go okay with brown leather too, but black is the better choice. And as for wearing it, The Cheap Place shows it on the left breast of a leather vest. That's as good a place as any I suppose.

The best thing about this patch is the fact that it's blank. You could take it to a local shop and have it embroidered with just about anything you want... provided it fits of course. You could add your family name, the name of your biker club, or even your favorite Irish saying. That's why I love blank patches; they are an empty canvas just waiting to be filled. I suppose if you would prefer to leave it blank, it still makes just as strong a statement about your Irish heritage.
