Daytona Bike Week is coming up! This event, which is held the first full week of March, is one of the most popular bike rallies in the United States. The only other rally that's anywhere near as large is the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Fortunately, the two rallies don't compete head to head (Sturgis is in August), so bikers can enjoy both events.
To commemorate the 71st Daytona rally, The Cheap Place is offering a really cool Daytona Bike Week 2012 Patch ? Black and Orange. These are the traditional colors of Harley Davidson, so if you ride a Harley, this would definitely be the Daytona 2012 patch for you. If you don't, you can also find this patch in a number of other colors. This patch features a completely new design by artist Arturo Vilmenay, so even if you have other Daytona Bike Week patches, this one will stand out.
The Daytona Beach Bike Week began in 1937 as the Daytona 200 race. The winner was Ed Kretz, a California rider, who was the first to cross the finish line at the end of the 3.2 mile course. The race has been held every year except from 1942 to 1947; however, even during those years, a Bike Week event was still held, even if it was unofficial.
There's nothing quite like hanging out with bikers from around the country at a rally of this size. Be sure to commemorate your attendance with one of these patches. The orange and black patch measures 3.25 by 2.5. If your entire motorcycle club is attending, or if you want to sell patches at Daytona, you may even want to inquire about wholesale patches. If you buy in bulk, you can save a lot of money per patch.
