Daytona Beach Bike Week: one of the largest biker rallies in the United States, perhaps even the world. This huge rally has hosted over 500,000 bikers! While it's called bike week, the actual event now runs ten days, and it's actually much more than just biking. There are parties, concerts, festivals, and even activities for children and the entire family. In fact, the rally became so large that a spin-off rally, Biketoberfest, was created and is now held in the fall every year.
Daytona Beach Bike Week began as a simple race in 1937. The Daytona 200 was a short 3.2-mile race that was fairly small. However, over the years, it has become a huge annual event. In fact, since 1937, the race has only been cancelled during World War II, but even then bikers still gathered in Daytona to celebrate motorcycles. The rally is now a huge event and draws people from across the U.S. and the world.
