Fight Cancer with this Patch

Cancer Sucks PatchBreast cancer is a battle women around the world have to deal with. To raise awareness of breast cancer and help raise money for research into finding a cure, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation began in 1982.  While some people may not know the name, almost everyone knows the pink ribbon symbol the foundation uses.  A number of products in the light pink shade used for the ribbon have been produced to help raise awareness.  The Cancer Sucks patch is just one of these products featuring the pink ribbon.

The Komen for the Cure foundation is the largest known breast cancer organization in the U.S.  It has raised almost $2 billion for breast cancer research, education, and support programs and has partnerships in over 50 countries.  The foundation was created by Nancy Brinker and named after her sister, Susan Komen, who died from breast cancer at age 36.  Brinker believed that she might have lived had her family been more educated about breast cancer.  The pink ribbon has long been associated with the foundation, although in 2007, the design was modified to look like the ribbon was running to connect it to the foundation's biggest event, the Race for the Cure fundraiser.

The Cancer Sucks patch features the more traditional pink ribbon on a black background.  It measures 2.5 by 2.5 and is square shaped.  The bright pink definitely stands out and can be easily seen.  This is a great patch for everyone, but it has special meaning to those battling breast cancer, those who have survived, and those who have lost a loved one to this disease.
