I was watching a news story of a local soldier whose body was being returned to our area for burial, and seeing the military procession, a sense of patriotism was stirred inside me, prompting today's post about the Got To Fight For Freedom patch. I found it in the Military Patches/US Veteran Patches category here on this website. When I saw it I got to thinking about the family of the dead soldier, and all the similar families around the country.
This patch says what a good number of our military personnel already know - that freedom is a precious commodity that will be lost if no one fights for it. Our soldiers have taken upon themselves the responsibility to fight on our behalf; to preserve our freedom and future. My hat's off to them.
Wearing this patch on a sleeve or a pocket is a subtle reminder, to those who read it, of the fragile nature of our freedom. We would all do well to be reminded of that on a daily basis. In fact, in light of what our federal and state governments are doing to us these days, the message is even more poignant than ever.
If you're freedom-minded, this patch might be just what you need to spark a conversation. You can apply it to most fabrics with the iron-on backing, or you can attach it the old-fashioned way with needle and thread. Either way, it's a great patch to wear!
