The State Rockers collection of patches features 50 different arched state name patches that fit perfectly on the shoulder of a jacket or front of a vest. This lets you very easily show some pride in the state of your birth or your current state of residence. The Alabama Patch is, naturally, for those from the great state of Alabama.
Alabama is in the heart of the southern states. On a map, you can immediately pick it out because it and Mississippi, the state to the west of Alabama, almost look like mirror images of each other. Alabama became the 22nd state to join the United States, and it did so in 1819. Before that, it was simply called Alabama Territory.
Unlike some states that have one official nickname, Alabama has three unofficial ones. The most popular is the Yellowhammer State, which comes from the state bird, the Yellowhammer. It's also called the Heart of Dixie since the state is right in the middle of Dixieland. Sometimes it's also referred to as the Cotton State. You might think this was because Alabama produces a lot of cotton, but actually, it's not even in the top 5 cotton-producing states.
The city of Montgomery serves as the capital of Alabama. Other large cities in the state include Birmingham, Mobile, and Huntsville. If you're riding your motorcycle through the state, you'll certainly want to drop down to the southern city of Mobile and check out the Gulf of Mexico. Its beautiful crystal blue waters are more than worth the trip, especially if you're there during Mardi Gras, few people know that Mobile, Alabama, is where this crazy party day began!
The Alabama patch measures 4' x 1.75' and can be ironed or sewn on to just about any item.
