Rich bikers are sometimes seen as being fake. That's because they don't always understand biker culture and think that just owning a bike is enough. Those who really want to learn what it means to be a biker will do their best to learn, though, so don't turn them away just because they have a lot of money.
The dollar sign does not always mean that you're rich or that you want to be rich. Sometimes, like in the case of singer Ke$ha, it's used as the letter s. Some people wear it to show that they deal with money. For example, an accountant or bank manager might want to wear a dollar sign patch to indicate what kind of work they do. Really, you can wear this patch for a number of reasons. Like most patches, the meaning it has is personal, and you don't have to explain why you've added this particular patch to your biker jacket.
