Today's blog post takes us to the US Army Gulf War Veteran patch at The Cheap Place. It's one of the many military patches the company sells to honor both peacetime veterans as well as those who served in the Middle East, Vietnam, and Korea. I chose this piece today because its design makes it a little different than what we normally talk about.
Usually, we discuss patches in terms of mounting them to your leather vest or jacket, or sewing onto a T-shirt or jean jacket. But the unique shape "cap" patches like this one means it fits nicely on the front of a hat. Whether it's a baseball cap, a duck-bill, or any other hat with a brim, the idea is to attach this patch to the front so as to make it the main focus. You can press it down using a hot iron, as long as the front of the hat is made of some sort of fabric.
I chose the U.S. Army Gulf War patch for this post, but The Cheap Place has similar patches for the other branches of the military and other conflicts. In fact, they have one of the largest selections of military patches around. From rockers to back patches to POW/MIA items, there's something for every vet.
