Almost everyone is patriotic to some degree, but some people don't really show it that much. If that describes you, you probably won't find much in the Eagle Patches category of The Cheap Place. These patches are almost all patriotic and aimed at those of us who love our country and want the world to know it. The large Defenders of Freedom patch, for example, is certainly going to make a statement. This round patch measures 12 inches by 12 inches, so you need a large area like the back of a shirt, jacket, or vest to put it on. People are sure to notice it, though, and not just because of its size.
The patch features many different small images, and it's very, very detailed. The background is an American flag in muted colors so it doesn't draw attention from the other images. There's a large eagle head in the center, and below it are five different military logos (navy, marines, coast guard, air force, and army). The POW-MIA emblem is featured on the eagle's throat. Above the eagle it says 'In memory of our troops', while under it is the message 'defenders of our freedom'. The entire patch is then surrounded by a dark blue and yellow circle with the words 'The nation which forgets its defenders will itself be forgotten'. That's a very powerful message that needs repeating.
You won't find many other patches that have this much color or incredible detail. I'm surprised everything stands out as well as it does because of everything on the patch. The Cheap Place does offer a smaller, six-inch version if you don't have something large enough, but I personally think the larger version is really the best.
