Military patches are a big part of The Cheap Place's business. So it's always great to see when new arrivals show up in this category; pieces like the Large Black USMC Eagle patch. It's just one of many brilliant patches designed by artist Arturo Vilmenay. He has a keen eye for not only what looks good, but how to best utilize design choices to honor those who serve in the US military.
There are four versions of this patch; two sizes each in black or red. The one we've chosen for today's blog post is the 11" x 9" back patch with the black background. There's also a 5" version of this patch plus two with a red background in the same sizes. Printed across the top are "Semper Fi" (the motto of the US Marine Corps) and "USMC". Underneath you'll find an American bald eagle standing on a globe, all resting on a gold Navy anchor. It's very impressive if you're a patriotic American who seriously appreciates the military.
Although this patch does have a plastic backing with heat-activated glue, it's size probably dictates you'll probably need to sew it on. They are ideal on the back of your leather vest or jacket, or to add personality to any piece of clothing you own. The smaller versions, which can be attached to most fabrics with a hot iron, work well on baseball caps, book bags, man curses, and so on.
