2015 will be TheCheapPlace's 6th birthday. We started back in Fall of 2009 with about 300 different patch designs, a $7000 investment for me which in time paid off. But persistence was the number 1 reason how it all worked out. I could have given up after 3 months of no sales, no repeat customers. It really wasn't all about setting up a website and waiting for people to place orders. Setting up the website was the easy part. Marketing it and getting people to find out about you was a bigger challenge. I thought The Cheap Place would be a great name, but at first people started associating this with cheap quality stuff. But once their expectations was exceeded is when the whole thing took off.
6 years later we now have over 2000 different patch designs of our own that we stock and ship daily from our warehouse in South Daytona, Florida. They call it the world's most famous beach. In my opinion, Daytona is quite the crack town. Days of Spring Break Glory long gone, the only thing left here is the Daytona 500 and the two bike weeks. Sure you can drive on the Beach. That's what I had been looking very forward to when I first moved here in 1999. It was the biggest disappointment of my life when I saw the 10 MPH speed limit. I understand the reason behind that speed limit now that I have children of my own, but you always had that imagination in the back of your head that you would get to test how fast your car could drive on the open beach. Not quite the case I'm afraid. And forget about taking your car on a test drive at the Speedway either. Another thing I was looking forward to doing back when I drove a Corvette Z06 for a couple of years.
Enough on Daytona. The topic was the new patches we are coming out with in 2015. Excluding myself who only has the artistic capabilities of designing text patches we do have two freelance artists coming out with awesome designs this year. Both John and Arturo are turning in their new designs which we'll turn into patches for you. (If you think you have what it takes to design patches it's good to know that any account holder at TheCheapPlace can submit a complete design for consideration. We do pay loyalties in return. If you're interested sign up for an account and start sending in your designs. But please don't send us any sketches, we only want finished artwork. What are we looking for?
