Of all the military patches you'll find at The Cheap Place, one of the most unusual is the Combat Action Badge patch. It utilizes no bright colors, no fancy insignias, and nothing else that would particularly draw your attention to it. Yet at the same time it demands your attention because it's so unique. This particular piece is the combat badge awarded by the U.S. Army. The Air Force has a similar award in the form of a medal.
The combat action badge, also known as CAB in military terms, features the standard-issue M9 bayonet and M67 grenade against what appears to be a leaf/branch border. The U.S. Army began distributing this patch in 2005 to any soldiers who experienced combat on or after September 18, 2001. Soldiers must adhere to the Army's prescribed rules of combat during their performance on the field in order to receive the badge.
If you're an Army combat veteran interested in this patch keep in mind that uniform regulations strictly prohibit the display of the badge on any uniform if the individual wearer is no longer a member of the combat unit with which he earned the badge. You can display it on any other type of clothing, or anywhere else for that matter, just not on a different uniform.
