Real Heroes Don't Wear Capes

Heroes Don't Wear Capes patchAsk a kid what a hero looks like and he or she is probably going to describe Superman, Batman, or any other superhero.  Ask them what a real hero looks like, and they will probably be confused.  Surely real heroes wear capes, right?  This is your chance to tell him what a true hero wears: dog tags.

The saying Heroes don't wear capes, they wear dog tags, was created to remind everyone (and teach kids) that while superheroes are fine for comics and television, real heroes are those who go risk their lives every day for our freedoms.  They are soldiers, pilots, marines, and others who serve in the military and wear dog tags as part of their official uniform.  These heroes deserve respect, honor, and praise.  Unfortunately, it seems like many people don't give them any of this.  They take our soldiers for granted, and they fail to teach their children about these real life heroes.

Those who are veterans or are currently serving in the military may act as if these slights don't really mean anything to them, but they do.  These people are out there risking their lives, and some start to feel like those risks simply aren't appreciated.

If you want to remind everyone who are the true heroes, add this large back Heroes Don't Wear Capes patch to your biker gear.  It's sure to get everyone's attention and remind them that true heroes are out there serving their country every day, not running around in comic books or on the big screen.
