The Cheap Place just started carrying a series of six small star patches in their Small Patches section. As a sample I've chosen the Red Black Star patch to write about in this post. Although it's only 3 inches, the bright colors and contrast between the red and black make it easily seen no matter what you attach it to. I think what I like most about it is the fact that the way it's designed gives it a 3-D effect.
I also think I came up with a great idea for how you can use these patches. Perhaps you head up a youth service group, or you know of one your kids belong to. There are plenty such groups that are organized fairly well but lack good uniforms that identify them. You could purchase dress shirts or golf shirts for all of the kids and then use these star patches either to denote specific accomplishments or perhaps member rank if your group is organized that way.
You could denote different things with each different colored patch such that it becomes the goal of all the kids in the group to earn each one. And because they are so inexpensive, and shipping is free for orders over $10, it's something your group could probably afford as part of its regular expenses. So why not buy a handful of them today and show them to the other parents in the group? We're sure they'll love the idea!
