Why have dragons become so popular? One of the reasons has to be the television show Game of Thrones. This novel series features three dragons, and many people love them. Then there's the movie series The Hobbit, which includes the dragon Smaug. A number of video games also feature dragons, including World of Warcraft, Skyrim, and the Dragon Age series.
Of course, dragons have been around for far longer than these movies, shows, and games. Dragons have appeared in fiction for centuries in different forms. Some people love the style of the European or Western dragon. These dragons are the ones most people are familiar with. They have four legs and two giant wings on their backs. Many Western dragons are depicted as wild, dangerous animals. Then there are the Asian dragons. These dragons have long, serpent-like bodies and are often very intelligent. Some even control the weather.
