The saying that colors don,t run comes from the fact that some colors fade or run when washed. The pigments don't stick to the material and can end up running to other materials. If you're looking for patriotic patches for jackets, this is a good one. The flag's bright colors look very nice and are a great way of reminding people how much pride you have in your country. Just remember to replace the patch if it starts to look faded, that would kind of go against the message it's trying to send.
