This Patch is for Those Who do Recon

Recon patch rockerPeople who join the military may find themselves working in a number of different areas.  Some will work in specialized positions such as airlifting, amphibious assault, or doing reconnaissance.  Recon, as it's usually known, involves entering enemy (or at least unfriendly) territory to gather information.  Doing recon is a dangerous job, especially if you're going deep into enemy territory.  However, the information gathered is essential to military operations, especially if it involves locating enemy forces or bases.  If you've been in a recon position before, you're entitled to wear this Recon Patch Rocker on your riding jacket.  It's one of the Uniform Patches found on The Cheap Place.

Recon can be done by several different military teams.  Some parachute into enemy territory, while others slip inside on foot.  Still other recon is done from airplanes, helicopters, ships, submarines, orbiting satellites, or even covert observation posts.  Recon isn't the same as espionage or spying since a recon mission is usually only done when the main military force is on the move and up to date intelligence is necessary.  Espionage, on the other hand, may be done months in advance of a military operation (and is sometimes used to gather information necessary to tell if a military operation is needed), while spying is often done by non-military personnel.

This recon rocker measures 3.5 inches across and 1.5 inches tall.  It's curved so it fits nicely on the shoulder of your jacket.  The lettering and border is done in a golden yellow, while the background is solid black.  You can iron this patch on to most clothing, but if you're putting it on leather, you'll need to sew it on with yellow thread that matches the border.
