Tips for Being a Patch Reseller - Part 2

In our previous post we talked about the idea of becoming a patch reseller. Doing so is a great way to turn a hobby you love into a source of extra income. But in order to make any business idea work you need to do things correctly. To that end, we gave our readers three tips for patch resellers in our previous post. They apply to selling biker patches, sports patches, military patches, or any other kind for that matter.

In this second post will give you a couple of more tips. Hopefully, between the two blog posts you have a better idea of what it takes to be successful patch reseller. Regardless of how well your business succeeds always remember one thing: patch collecting is an awesome hobby you should enjoy whether or not you make any extra money. With that behind us, here are our final two tips.

4. Look for Wholesale Patches - Successful resellers purchase their patches at wholesale prices then turn around and sell them at a profit. This is true whether you're talking about military patches, biker patches, or whatever. Typically you're looking for a wholesale provider that will give you 15% to 30% off the retail price. Your markup will cover your costs of doing business plus a little bit extra for you.

5. Pay Attention to Seasonal Customer Demand - Lastly, reselling patches is a customer driven business which relies heavily on seasonal demand. As an example, biker patches are great for the early spring months when motorcycle season resumes; they sell well throughout the summer as well. Military patches are great around July 4, Memorial Day, and Labor Day. Pay attention to consumer demand and stock your patches accordingly.
