What is DILLIGAF?

DILLIGAF rocker patchThere are a lot of different acronyms and slang out there, especially in the world of the internet.  You might go into a chatroom or online message forum and see people communicating in nothing but internet slang, and it can be confusing.  Bikers have some slang terms of their own, of course, and one of their favorites is DILLIGAF.  Ever have one of those moments where you just do not care about what someone is saying or their news?  That's where DILLIGAF comes into play.  It means "Do I Look Like I Give A Fuck" and it's message is pretty clear: go away, I don't care.

There are some conflicting origins for the term.  According to some sources, DILLIGAF is actually a military slang term soldiers used to show that they weren't interested in something.  Another source says it was originally a term used by rednecks.  One possible origin, or at least the source that made DILLIGAF popular, is a song by Kevin Bloody Wilson.  He's an Australian comedy singer/songwriter who often sings very explicit and sexual songs that have a humorous twist to them.  His song DILLIGAF is one of his most popular.  The song includes the definition of the term and says things like, 'when you go out stick a DILLIGAF on your t-shirt or your hat'.

Bikers who want to heed this advice will find a number of different DILLIGAF patches out there.  One of the more popular ones is the small DILLIGAF rocker patch that can be worn on the sleeve or the front of a vest.
