Who Do You Turn To For Expert Advice?

Of Course I Talk to myself, I Need Expert Advice patchSometimes, we all need some expert advice.  Finding an expert, though, isn't always easy.  Sure, some people might claim to know everything there is to know about a subject, but these people may be full of it.  This is especially true if the same person seems to be an expert on every single topic of conversation!  They may actually know very little or be wrong on everything, but you just can't convince them that they don't know what they're talking about.

If you're a biker and you need expert advice on your motorcycle, you probably don't have to look much further than your local motorcycle club or a licensed, experienced mechanic in your area.  Dealers can also give you some expert advice, especially ones who have bought and sold motorcycles for years.  You can usually trust them to give you good advice, especially if you've known them for a while.  If you've got specific questions about a certain brand of motorcycle, you might be able to get expert advice from someone who owns that kind of motorcycle.

Sometimes, you are the resident expert on a subject and people seek you out for advice.  In that case, you should always be sure to give out the best advice you can, and if you aren't certain about something, say so.  That way, you will not steer anyone onto the wrong track.  When giving advice to yourself (as many people do), you also have to be aware of your limits and seek help elsewhere if you need it.

If you're giving yourself some expert advice and talking out loud, people might think you're odd.  Just wear this Of Course I Talk to myself, I Need Expert Advice patch to let them know it's okay.
