With this Patch, It's all Aces

Reflective Ace of Spades patchThe Ace of Spades, also called the spadille, has an interesting number of myths associated with it.  Many cards in the traditional deck are just numbers, and even the Jack, Queen, and King cards don't really have much in the way of symbolism or stories about them.  The Ace of Spades, however, has several stories related to death.  It's also often seen as the highest valued card in the deck, which may be why it's been singled out.  This Reflective Ace Of Spades Patch features the traditional design of the card on a reflective surface that allows it to be easily seen at night.  It's one of the Reflective Patches available on The Cheap Place.

While this patch features a simple design for the card, the Ace of Spades is often one of the more ornately designed cards in a deck.  This is because King James I actually created a law that requires all printing houses to print their insignia on the Ace of Spades.  It was used to show that the company had paid a specific tax.

It's from its use in war that the Ace of Spades became known as the death card.  It was used by US troops in Vietnam because Vietnamese tradition stated that the symbol of the spade stood for death and bad luck.  Soldiers would leave cards on dead bodies and on battlegrounds to unnerve the Viet Cong soldiers.  The card is also sometimes used to represent an all-seeing eye.

This small patch measures two inches wide and three inches tall.  The reflective background is very useful for riding at night or during cloudy weather since it helps other motorists see you on the road.  Because it's smaller than many other reflective patches, you can use it in a number of places you couldn't use one of the larger patches.
