Yarrr, A Pirate's Life for Me!

Pirate Skull PatchA lot of bikers like to decorate their jackets and vests with skull patches.  Bikers are, in a way, like of like modern day pirates.  They often go from place to place in groups, but instead of pillaging, they descend on diners and all you can eat restaurants.  Their ships are their motorcycles, and their captain is the leader of their pack.  If your biker gang is kind of like this, you might want a Pirate Skull Patch on your jacket.

This fun patch features the traditional skull and crossbones of the Jolly Roger, the flag most often flown on pirate ships.  It has a red pirate hat and an eye patch over the right eye.  The Jolly Roger didn't include either the hat or the eye patch, but some actually featured an hourglass.  The hourglass was used as a sign of death in the 17th century, but since we don't always associate it with death now, most modern uses of the Jolly Roger don't include it.

Why would pirates fly this flag?  It was meant to frighten their victims into surrendering without a fight.  It identified the ship that was flying it as a ship of outlaws who would not obey any of the usual rules of combat.  It fits very well with the image of a lot of biker gangs: they're tough, defiant of authority (or at least, that's the image of bikers many people have), and they don't always play by the rules.

The pirate skull patch measures three inches by two and a half inches.  It features five different colors (white, red, black, brown, and tan) and can be attached to any article of clothing.
